Have you activated your ASURITE UserID? Doing so gives you access to My ASU and important online transactions. During activation, be sure to set up your email address information.

Course selection and registration

Contact your academic department about steps to take to select and register for courses. You can view your academic unit's contact information in the My Programs and Degree Progress box on My ASU. Note that you may have holds on your enrollment that you need to complete before you may register for classes.

Spring admits: Class registration typically becomes available mid-October. Take some time now to review and complete any outstanding holds you may have under Priority Tasks in My ASU so you can be ready for registration.

Fall admits: Class registration typically becomes available mid-spring.

Tuition billing

Tuition charges will be billed to your student account and may be viewed online through My ASU. By registering for classes, you agree to pay all applicable tuition and registration fees.

If you decide not to attend, you must completely withdraw from all classes.

If tuition is not paid by the applicable due date, you will be automatically enrolled in the tuition installment plan and charged a nonrefundable enrollment fee.

MMR immunization

All new students need to submit documentation of measles, mumps and rubeola immunization or immunity. You must submit this form before you can register for classes.

ASU photo ID

New students can secure an official ASU photo ID upon arrival. ASU has two choices for photo IDs, including one with free checking and banking. Both offer access to campus buildings and libraries.

Making changes

If you have decided not to attend ASU, or would like to change the semester you begin your program, you should cancel your admission or request a deferral.

If you are admitted to two or more degree programs, submit the graduate degree selection form. It will allow you to indicate your intentions to Graduate Admission Services so you may continue to register in your chosen program.

Frequently asked questions about graduate admitted students


What do I do after being admitted to graduate school at ASU?

Once you’re admitted to an ASU graduate program, you’ll have a checklist of to-do items to complete before and after you enroll in your classes. These items include getting your ASU ID card, submitting your immunization information, and choosing and registering for your classes. You should complete your enrollment steps as early as possible to avoid any delays to the start of your semester.

How do I register for classes?

To register for your graduate program courses, contact your academic department. They will help you select and register for your courses. Your academic unit’s contact information can be found in the My Programs and Degree Progress box in My ASU. If you have enrollment holds, you need to complete those before you can register. Class registration for fall admits becomes available around mid-spring, while spring admits can begin enrolling around mid-October.

How many classes should I take to be a full-time student?

To be considered a full-time student in a graduate program, you must enroll in at least nine credit hours per semester.
