It is our pleasure to welcome you.

We are excited that you have chosen to continue your degree at Arizona State University.

This is your guide through the important steps you need to take to enroll in classes and prepare for the beginning of your academic year. Here you will find information about the visa application process, preparing for travel, arriving at ASU, registering for classes and much more.

Activate your ASURITE User ID to check My ASU 

Your ASURITE User ID is the official login name you’ll use to access most ASU systems and services. You’ll get your ASURITE User ID and activation instructions shortly after you submit your application. A message from [email protected] with the subject line "ASU Account Activation" will be sent to the email address you provided in your application.

If you can't remember you ASURITE User ID you can look it up at: asu.edu/lostpassword

Activate ASURITE

You’ll log in to My ASU with your ASURITE User ID and password to:

  • View your priority tasks and next steps for enrollment
  • View your advisor contact information
  • View financial aid and billing information
  • Connect to campus technology and services

How to log in to My ASU:

  1. Navigate to my.asu.edu.
  2. Enter your ASURITE User ID.
  3. Enter your password. (Forgot your password? Visit asu.edu/lostpassword.)
  4. Click the “Sign In” button to access your account.
     

You will receive your official @asu.edu email address once you are enrolled in classes. Until then, ASU will continue to send messages to the non-ASU personal email address you provided on your admission application.

After you enroll, you will receive your official @asu.edu email address, and a Gmail button will appear at the top of My ASU. You will access and check your official ASU email through your ASU Gmail account using this button. From then on, we may send official university messages to your ASU Gmail inbox. Be sure to check both your non-ASU personal email address and your ASU Gmail inbox regularly.

Note: Download and save your admit letter, which is posted to My ASU, so you have it for travel.


Request your I-20 and apply for your visa

International students who wish to pursue their studies at ASU must obtain an F-1 or J-1 visa. To obtain a visa, students must first receive a SEVIS number and I-20 document from ASU.

ASU guides each student through the process of obtaining their I-20 using the I-20 Tracker in My ASU.

 Give your parents or family access to your records and account

Through My ASU Parent Guest Access, you can share your academic records with your parent or guardian, and give them access to pay your tuition and bills. Go to My ASU, select the Profile tab at the top and find “Add a Guest” under My ASU Guest Access Permissions.

Submit your measles, mumps and rubella immunization record (on-campus students only)

All students born after Jan. 1, 1957, are required to meet the following MMR immunization requirement before classes begin. You can upload required documentation in your ASU My Health Portal

The MMR vaccine is available for a fee at any of ASU's Health Services locations.


Transfer credit as a transfer student

If you are a transfer student bringing college credit with you, Admission Services initially awards transfer credit. However, your academic advisor in your major will determine how the credit applies to your degree.

To review your transfer credits, visit the ASU Transfer Guide, log in with your ASURITE User ID and password, and click on My Transfer Guide. For questions about applying your transfer credits to your degree program, please connect with your academic advisor using the Academic Support Team box in My ASU.

Pay your enrollment deposit (on-campus students only)
 

Confirm your place in ASU’s incoming class by submitting your enrollment deposit via My ASU. Then, be sure to check My ASU often for any Priority Tasks needed to complete your steps to enroll.

Explore housing and dining options

On-campus housing is limited for transfer students. You are encouraged to submit your housing application as soon as possible. To apply to live on campus, please visit My ASU.

You can also explore off-campus housing options.

Review parking and transportation

Cars are not the only way to get to ASU. The bus and light rail are affordable options too, and students walk, bike or skateboard on campus.

Many students also use ASU’s intercampus shuttles.

Schedule an academic advising appointment and register for classes

Register for classes by accessing ASU’s New Student Orientation Experience in My ASU. Your academic advisor will help you select and register for classes.

Learn about tuition and fees

Tuition charges will be billed to your student account and may be viewed online through My ASU. By registering for classes, you agree to pay all applicable tuition and registration fees. If you decide not to attend, you must completely withdraw from all classes before the semester begins.

If tuition is not paid by the applicable due date, you will automatically be enrolled in the tuition installment plan and charged a nonrefundable enrollment fee.

ASU has partnered with Flywire to offer a streamlined and cost-effective payment method for you to send international payments. Flywire offers favorable exchange rates and a secure portal for processing your payment to ASU. Create a Flywire login to make payments and review your payment activity and history.

Health insurance

Health insurance is mandatory for all registered international students and a condition of enrollment, and requires that international students have adequate medical and accident insurance coverage. Mandatory student health insurance is automatically charged for all international students.
