We have gathered your next steps to help you prepare for your graduate experience at ASU — plus we have added some extras for you to enjoy. This guide highlights the most important things to know so you will be prepared for your new Sun Devil status.

Your next steps as an admitted graduate student
Activate your ASURITE User ID to check your My ASU
Your ASURITE User ID is the official login name you’ll use to access most ASU systems and services. You’ll get your ASURITE User ID and activation instructions shortly after you submit your application. A message from [email protected] with the subject line "ASU Account Activation" will be sent to the email address you provided in your application.
If you can't remember you ASURITE User ID you can look it up at: asu.edu/lostpassword
You’ll log in to My ASU with your ASURITE User ID and password to:
- View your priority tasks and next steps for enrollment
- View your advisor contact information
- View financial aid and billing information
- Connect to campus technology and services
How to log in to My ASU:
- Navigate to my.asu.edu.
- Enter your ASURITE User ID.
- Enter your password. (Forgot your password? Visit asu.edu/lostpassword.)
- Click the “Sign In” button to access your account.
You will receive your official @asu.edu email address once you are enrolled in classes. Until then, ASU will continue to send messages to the non-ASU personal email address you provided on your admission application.
After you enroll, you will receive your official @asu.edu email address, and a Gmail button will appear at the top of My ASU. You will access and check your official ASU email through your ASU Gmail account using this button. From then on, we may send official university messages to your ASU Gmail inbox. Be sure to check both your non-ASU personal email address and your ASU Gmail inbox regularly.
Note: Remember to save your admission letter, which is posted to My ASU, so you have it for travel.
Request your I-20 and apply for your visa
International students who wish to pursue their studies at ASU must obtain an F-1 or J-1 visa. To obtain a visa, students must first receive a SEVIS number and I-20 document from ASU.
ASU guides each student through the process of obtaining their I-20 using the I-20 Tracker in My ASU.
Submit your measles, mumps and rubella immunization record (on-campus students only)
All students born after Jan. 1, 1957, are required to meet the following MMR immunization requirement before classes begin. You can upload required documentation in your ASU My Health Portal.
The MMR vaccine is available for a fee at any of ASU's Health Services locations.
Pay your enrollment deposit (on-campus students only)
Confirm your place at ASU by submitting your enrollment deposit via My ASU. Then, be sure to check My ASU often for any Priority Tasks needed to complete your steps to enroll.
Register for classes
First, meet with your academic advisor for more information on how to register for courses. You can find the name, email and phone number for your academic advisor in the Academic Support Team box on My ASU. Click on the Academic Advisor option there to find this contact information and schedule your appointment. Note that you may have a hold on your enrollment that will need to be completed before registering for classes.
