Dr. Sethuraman Panchanathan, who was born in Chennai, India, spent more than 20 years in leadership positions at Arizona State University before his 2019 appointment as director of the U.S. National Science Foundation. He is also a Padma Shri recipient, one of the highest civilian honors of India for distinguished service. Now, he returns to ASU as University Professor for Technology and Innovation, bringing with him a wealth of experience.
