Examples of Acceptable Evidence

Statement of Assurance

To be granted continuing accreditation by the Committee on Accreditation, a program of professional preparation must be proposed and operated by an entity that makes all personnel decisions without unlawful discrimination. These decisions include decisions regarding the admission, retention or graduation of students, and decisions regarding the employment, retention, or promotion of employees.

Examples of Acceptable Evidence

 

Links or copies to documents that include non-discrimination language related to employment such as employee handbooks, recruitment materials, job postings, etc.

 

AND

 

Links or copies to documents that includes non-discrimination language related to candidates in the program – admissions, retention, graduation and so forth. These are typically in candidate handbooks or candidate recruitment materials.

ASU Non‑Discrimination & Equal Opportunity Documentation

 

1. ASU Culture & Inclusion – Official Nondiscrimination Statement

ASU provides a clear, public nondiscrimination statement applicable to employment and educational programs.

Key language includes:

“ASU promotes equal opportunity… University policy prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability and qualified veteran status.” 

This applies directly to hiring, compensation, education, training, transfers, recruitment, etc.

 

2. ASU Staff Personnel Manual (SPP) – This is ASU’s formal employment policy manual used for employee hiring, supervision, classification, and discipline.

Key policy evidence:

“Discrimination is prohibited on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, citizenship, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, and qualified veteran status.”

3. ASU Recruitment & Employment Policy (SPP 201‑01)

Key policy language:

“ASU promotes equal opportunity in employment and educational programs and activities.”

“Discrimination is prohibited on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, citizenship, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, and qualified veteran status.”

Applies to: recruitment, hiring, promotion, termination, benefits, training, tuition assistance, and more.

 

4. ASU Career Services – Employer Recruitment Policies

This governs how employers may recruit through ASU platforms and requires compliance with nondiscrimination policies.

  • Employers must comply with Equal Employment Opportunity laws and ASU nondiscrimination policies to post positions or participate in job fairs.
  • Explicit reference to EEO compliance for recruitment activities.

 

 

MLFC maintains a website where all full- and part-time jobs are posted: ​​https://education.asu.edu/about/jobs. The site provides a statement about Arizona State University being an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer and provides a link to ACD 401: Prohibition Against Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation policy and a link to ASU’s University Office of Human Resources.

 

Non-Discrimination Language Related to Candidates in the Program – Admissions, Retention, Graduation 

 

Because MLFC is part of Arizona State University, all ASU‑wide nondiscrimination, admissions, and student‑facing policies apply fully to MLFC candidates. MLFC also publishes its own equity‑driven commitments in its mission and policy pages.

Graduate policies

 

The MLFC graduate students website provides an example of how MLFC provides candidates information on the college’s mission, the programs offered, how to access the Student Success Team and financial support. The application requirements for our current programs are also housed on the site. The site also provides students information on what to do once they are admitted. If at any time students need assistance, there is a link to provide them access to their graduate admission team member. If approved by the California Commission, this site will include all of the above for our California program(s).

 

 

 

Candidate Admissions- Notice of Nondiscrimination ASU Graduate College 

To apply for admission, applicants go to the Apply to graduate school website. The site provides the steps, requirements for admission and application deadlines. Once the applicant has provided all the required information, prior to paying their application fee, they are asked to acknowledge their understanding of the following:

- They are responsible for submitting all official transcripts from prior institutions. 

- Their application affirms their willingness to educate and comport themselves within the ASU Academic Integrity and Responsible Conduct of Research policies.

- ASU does not discriminate on the basis of sex in the education programs and activities we operate, including in admission and employment. The Title IX coordinator's contact information is provided. 

 

The Graduate College Policy Manual includes a formal Notice of Non‑Discrimination section at the beginning of the document:
