You’re now on your way to becoming part of the most innovative and forward-thinking university in the nation.
They say the longest journey begins with a single step. Well, enrolling at ASU isn’t really a “long journey,” but it does begin with one step, followed by a few more. Start taking your steps and check them off as you complete them so you can get closer to becoming a Sun Devil.
First-year student next steps


Activate your ASURITE User ID
Your ASURITE User ID is the official login name you’ll use to access most ASU systems and services. You’ll get your ASURITE User ID and activation instructions shortly after you submit your application. A message from [email protected] with the subject line "ASU Account Activation" will be sent to the email address you provided in your application.
If you can't remember you ASURITE User ID you can look it up at: asu.edu/lostpassword
You’ll log in to My ASU with your ASURITE User ID and password to:
- View your priority tasks and next steps for enrollment
- View your advisor contact information
- View financial aid and billing information
- Connect to campus technology and services
How to log in to My ASU:
- Navigate to my.asu.edu.
- Enter your ASURITE User ID.
- Enter your password. (Forgot your password? Visit asu.edu/lostpassword.)
- Click the “Sign In” button to access your account.
You will receive your official @asu.edu email address once you are enrolled in classes. Until then, ASU will continue to send messages to the non-ASU personal email address you provided on your admission application.
ASU provides every enrolled student with an official ASU email address that ends in @asu.edu. You’ll use this address through your ASU Gmail account in Google Workspace. After you enroll in classes, a Gmail button will appear at the top of My ASU. From then on, we will send all official university messages to your ASU Gmail inbox.


Give your parents access to your records and account
Through My ASU Parent Guest Access, you can share your academic records with your parent or guardian, and even better, give them access to pay your tuition and bills. Go to My ASU, select the Profile tab at the top and find “Add a Guest” under My ASU Guest Access Permissions.


Pay your enrollment deposit (on-campus students only)
Beginning Oct. 1, you can confirm your place in the incoming fall 2026 class by submitting your deposit. Then make sure to check My ASU often for any Priority Tasks you need to complete to enroll for fall 2026.


Submit your FAFSA and apply for scholarships
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid for the 2026–2027 academic year opens Oct 1, 2025, but you can set up your Studentaid.gov account now to get ready to file the FAFSA. You’ll need to create an Studentaid.gov account to electronically sign and submit your FAFSA. If you are a dependent, your parent (contributor on the FAFSA) will also need to create an Studentaid.gov account .
ASU’s 2026-2027 Scholarship Universe will open for admitted students in October 2025. Students can build their profile, search and apply for scholarships.


Submit your measles, mumps and rubella immunization record (on-campus students only)
All students born after Jan. 1, 1957, are required to meet the following MMR immunization requirement before classes begin:
Option 1: Provide proof of two MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) vaccinations. The first MMR must be given on or after your first birthday; The second MMR must be four weeks from the first, or later.
Option 2: Provide a copy of a Measles IgG or MMR IgG lab test showing positive immunity.

ASU's New Student Orientation Experience
Through ASU’s New Student Experience, accessed online in My ASU, you will prepare to take classes in the fall by completing essential next steps for enrollment. There are three steps — view details here and check My ASU for updates. As part of the New Student Orientation Experience, you’ll meet with your academic college and finalize your class schedule. All students must complete the New Student Orientation Experience in order to enroll in classes.


Confirm your housing and dining
ASU first-year students live in the residential college of their academic major. Barrett, The Honors College students live in the Barrett residential community for their first two years. The priority deadline to apply for housing is May 15. Students who do not meet the deadline will need to seek alternative housing arrangements for the 2026-2027 academic year. Once you've paid your enrollment deposit, you can select your housing and dining preferences.
Please note that it may take one to two business days for your enrollment deposit status to be reflected in the housing portal.
